Yesterday was the birthday of Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva

农历七月十三（2017年9月3日），是大势至菩萨圣诞。

The 13th day of the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar (September 3, 2017) was the birthday of Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva.

阿弥陀佛成就四十八大愿，慈悲接引众生九品往生西方极乐净土。观世音菩萨是极乐世界一生补处菩萨，未来继承阿弥陀佛位，号普光功德山王如来。大势至菩萨为第二顺位一生补处菩萨，未来继观世音菩萨后成佛，号善住珍宝山王如来。

Amitabha Buddha achieved his forty-eight vows. He compassionately guides living beings to be reborn in any of the nine levels of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is Amitabha Buddha’s first successor to become Buddha with the name of Universal Light Merit and Virtue Mountain King Tathagata. Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva is the second successor after Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva with the name of Well-dwelling Treasure Mountain King Tathagata. 

值此殊胜纪念日，博山正觉寺于西方三圣殿为大势至菩萨供香、花、水、果等。祈愿大势至菩萨以威德力护佑大众罪障蠲除，昼夜吉祥，所求如愿，得遇正法，精进修行，福慧双增。

In the Hall of Three Sages of Western World, people offered incense, flowers, candles, fruits in the Buddhist altar piously. Wish Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva could bless all living beings eliminate sin barrier soon, live an auspicious life, fulfill the wishes, practice diligently, and both increase wisdom and fortune.
